rice cooker

I absolutely refuse to buy products MIC!
Remember my hairdryer....well...it is philips brand and horrors, saleman tells me it is MIC.

So as I embark on rice cooker hunt I made a mental note to avoid MIC!

11am
First stop: Best Denki orchard
Having a sale.
Until I got there and only Philips rice cooker was at 10% discount.
I asked salesman got MIJ?
There is a Kirojuska....something like that.
Problem is that Kirojuska has a glass lid.
Now you might say....I will be very careful.
But just take my rice cooker at home, do you know how many times we have dropped that metallic lid?

Second Stop: Paragon
No electronic shops here.
But ate lunch...did you know that the breadtalk branch here carry more exotic bread?
Even the market place has exotic foodstuff....like spinach dip. I was sooooo tempted to buy.

Third Stop: Best and Carrefour at Plaza Sing
I thought I saw a nice display set of SHARP 1L going for 60something.
I took the box but at the cashier, I saw that the box was marked 1.8L.
Sorry, wrong size....so put back.
Headed up to Best.
This Best was different from Best at Taka. They carried a lot of MIC.

Fourth Stop: took a bus to Marina Gain City
Again, only got MIC.
Got MIM! but no stock.

Went over to Suntec, Carrefour
Found a Tiger rice cooker. MIJ!!!! display set has a steamer inside the rice cooker.
Although the price was $150, hey it has steamer and MIJ....fulfilled my expectations.
So went to make payment.
Went home....horrors! no steamer inside.
So took my rice cooker....took a bus.....went back to suntec....6pm.

Returned at Customer Service....got back my money....haha....purchase lasted 3 hours only.

Just my luck, across the shop was Harvey Norman
I specified, I DON"T WANT MIC.
Ok....
only 2 choices here.
Panasonic: MIM & Hitachi MIT
Salesman said Hitachi rice container better material. Will not crust up the rice if you keep warm.
Price 152.

OK.....
I am tired.
I am hungry.
Lets just buy Hitachi.

Not bad:
Hitachi can set to cook rice, mixed rice, sushi, porridge, steam cake, steam food.
Got timer.
I tried out when I got home.....hmmmm....not bad.
Very happy with my hitachi rice cooker.

End of shopping!!!
oops....except for the rice cooker:-)

Tentative date of house warming.....JUNE 1 Sunday
pending on availablity of priest.

fridge and washing machine

The fridge that I finally bought was a 3-door Panasonic NRL 376MX.
$1608
A bit ex, but my sis sponsored 1K:-)
1. It is made in Japan
I think I give up on electrical products made in korea and china. Did I tell you that my philips hairdryer that I just bought from courts give off a burnt smell when I use it. Horrors! Anyway, I am still using it until it konks out.
2. It is a large capacity with energy saving.
365 L capacity; 434 energy saving.
3. It fits the space in the kitchen.

I looked at Mitsubishi MRV45T $899
Go for this if you have the space!
Made in thailand.

Another favourite: Mitsubishi MRF42T $749
Still too big.

Washing Machine....
The ONE I finally bought is ELBA 7kg made in europe. The 5kg is made in china.
Price $688

dining table from moopak

I finally got my dream dining table from MOOPAK!
I did not buy a coffee table....haha....if you come to my house and sit on the ikea sofa, you'll have to continue holding any drinks in your hands or quickly drink up! Oh...and if you are expecting to view a flat screen TV, sorry folks, you have the beautiful view of my balcony or you can tinkle on the ivories. Anyway, for your info, the TV in my room doesn't get very good reception. The best channel is kids central....hmmmm. Anyway, instead of coffee table, I have bought a camphor box that will double up as a side table. I love the designs on the box.....it was luv at first sight. If you open the box, it gives off a pleasant smell that is suppose to ward off silver fish and termites.
Yep, you see plants....stem cutting sponsored by mom, soil was dug up from my garden....I still need to go and buy more soil......
I still need to get stem cuttings from my current money plant. Yep yep, must bring over some money too! Money plants are a bit more picky about where to place them. The current one in my house was sitting next to piano, until the piano teacher went on holiday and all the leaves started turning yellow. So my mom shifted it next to the TV and Radio. Then horrors, it looked like it was going to die. So mom shifted it next to the telephone. Yep, money plant is thriving very well next to the telephone now:)

Time of mahjong....Friday night till past midnight.....after which I shut windows and switched on air con to go to sleep.
Time of mahjong....Saturday morning....9am.

I will syncronise my piano with the mahjong.
So at 9:30am this morning, I played my piano!!!!!
haha....let the neighbors get used to it.

9am....I went to buy stuff to check out the market.
Neighbors are up. Some go down to central to have breakfast.
Came back and this lady was on the treadmill.....
wah lao....I got my exercise doing housework till 11pm last night. That must be a tai tai who need to run on the treadmill for her exercise.
Need to check out what time cute guys do their exercise....then I shall go running too! wink.
