my non-stick pan
Tangs was having a 12% rebate, so I finally decided to purchase my long awaited tefal non-stick pan. The above is 24 cm diameter, priced $29.90 on sale. After deducting the rebates in my card, I only paid $13 for the pan.
Now I can cook stir fry, fried rice, noodles, eggs without the food sticking onto the pan.

2nd floor lady vs 7th floor lady
Clash of the Titans.....
This is the latest. Yesterday 2nd flr lady sent out sms saying that she is going to 'saman' 7th flr lady for the following offenses:
bathing in swimming toilet
washing laundry in carpark tap
peeling prawns at bbq tap
charging hp, laptop, boil water, cook green bean soup on the socket in stairwell
****
Reminds me of Jesus writing on the floor and asking those with no sin to throw the first stone.

gossip
And so there was all this sms updates....
How her sofa was burnt by some brute who threw down cigarettes.
And then there is that lady that peel prawns using the bbq sink. Plus taking showers in the swimming pool shower. Boiling water in the stairwell....
I don't know who is worse, the culprit or the one sms-ing all the details.
Character....
Honestly, I don't like either one.
I do not think public shaming is correct.
But on the other hand, if you go up to mahjong lady, she'll probably just ignor and continue.
What can you do but jump up and down?
And it is not worth it.
hmmm.....

crocroach bait
I bought this today.
I killed 2 roaches last night. There is still one lurking inside my kitchen cabinet.
The box comes with 6 packets....i placed them in the kitchen, yard, toilets.
I also bought bay leaves from the supermarket.
Very expensive.
1 stalk costs $3 something.
Anyway, I put the bay leaves where the dishes and pots are.
The grounded bay leaves are cheaper....$1.90
I spinkled some on a tiny dish and left that lying near to the stove.
***
The star annise which is suppose to repel lizards and ants did nothing for the roaches.
The roaches didn't seem afriad of the napthelene balls either.
So I've moved the napthelene balls into my clothes cabinet.
Anyway, the important thing is to keep my apartment clean to prevent creepy crawlies from bugging the place.

crocroach in the kitchen
2. You can make your own insecticide by mixing equal parts of baking soda and powdered sugar and setting up a mock bait plate for the roaches. After mixing your sugar and soda, eave the mixture in a shallow dish where roaches have been seen or are known to travel. The combination of sugar and soda is lethal to the cockroach.
3. Roaches hate the taste of bay leaves. You can naturally and safely keep most roaches at bay by placing the leaves anywhere you've seen roaches moving. Using bay leaves is a great way to keep roaches out of the rooms and play area of children.
****
Found this on the internet. I think I'll give this a try.
The roaches are bigger now...about an inch.
Maybe I will seal up the holes in the kitchen.
I've put napthelene near my kitchen and front door....don't know if it'll work.
Tomorrow I look for crocroach medicine in the supermarket.
I took my jin chian shu in for suntanning in my balcony....
I thought the leaves looked a bit yellow.

New...
New Footpath...
Hmm...interesting that the footpath reaches the tree and then turns abruptly. It has been so long that I used the side gate....er....cannot remember the secret code.
New Neighbor....
There has been a man moving in and out. Last time I heard a woman, don't know if the woman was the housing agent or she lives there. Anyway, neighbor put a couch on his balcony....and he could not decide on where to put his flower vase....he put it up, then 1 hour later, he took it in, then this morning it was out again, and he put it on the floor. And he put an ikea cushion on his couch.
hmmm....if I were him, I'd worry about how much dust the couch and cushion is going to collect from the nearby construction.
Oh...he has an UGLY shoe rack outside of his door. It is REALLY UGLY!

After the complaint, after the fumigation, what's left are the babies.
There was a bunch of tiny croaches running around.
They are less than 2 mm big.
Cruuuuuuuush them nonetheless!

Crrrrrrush that crockroach...
There are now little crockroaches running in my kitchen! I was eating ice-cream off the tub and left the lid on the kitchen sink. When I was done, a tiny crockroach was having dessert as well. CRUSH.....I am getting very good at this.
They come up from the rubbish chutte.
Then a moth flew into my kitchen....
I went to grab my ntuc brand of insect spray.
1st spray.....the moth was not even dizzy.
2nd spray...
3rd spray....
in the end I took a kitchen towel and whack the insect....
smack.....it died!
Moral of the story: don't get ntuc brand insect spray; use mortene (mom advised)
you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.

copy flower arrangments
This one is called zen floral arrangement...
Only one BIG flower and lots of leaves! I think this is quite do-able.
Only one BIG flower and lots of leaves! I think this is quite do-able.
I think it will be quite expensive to get all those fake flowers. hmmm....need to source around for cheap flowers. Maybe I should look into what is available in my mom's cupboard in the store room.
This one is quite standard arrangement. Put the BIG flowers..I think have 2 compliment colours then fill in with baby's breathe and leaves!
I've seen my mom take classes on flower arrangment.
What happens is the teacher demonstrates, then the class will just COPY the teacher's version.
Then you have to buy all the flowers and basket and leaves from the teacher on top of the fees for the lessons. Er....I am going to do this the cheap way....hehe....copy from the internet. I think I will simply reproduce floral arrangement.
